I have lived in Alabama most all of my life, except for the one year I lived in Houston, TX. to attend school. I found myself without a job in April 2008, after the John Deere Dealership I worked for closed. I struggled to support my family working at Advance Auto until Feb.2010 when I moved my family 600 miles south to Okeechobee, FL. to begin a new job.............. so NOW I am living out the state I grew up in for the first time with, what seems to be, no immediate date to return.............

I graduated in 1983, I live in Ingleside Texas with my husband of 23 years, my daughter (24) and son (20). I have lived here for 13 years. After graduation I went to Lawson State Community College for a year and a half, got married in 1986 and moved to Kingsbay Georgia. My husband joined the navy immediately after high school so I have done alot of traveling before my final destination Texas where he retired after 21 years in the service. After my kids got older I went back to school and now have my bachelor degree in Communication. Both of my kids are attending the University of Texas in Austin.

Well Columbus Indiana is now my home of 4 years[when Im there] but I still call Alabama my real home. I am lucky enough to be able to get home often and visit friends and family. Other than that my second home is wherever we are racing that week and I call home HOTEL.

Graduated from Midfied in 1983.. Moved away to Des Moines, Ia in 1984 where I lived for almost 4 years... Moved back to Alabama and stayed with my parents and in 1988 is when I met my husband Jerry... We married in Nov.'89 and immediately started our family.. my husband was in the restuartant bus(Mgr) so we moved quite frequently... From Bham--to Decatur -- to Murfreesboro, TN -- to Tyler, TX -- to Pigeon Forge, TN--To Chattanooga, TN -- To Ringgold, GA... to Huntsville, AL.... back to Chattanooga, TN... and now near the Atlanta area.(Canton to be exact).. we have been here almost 4 years and loving it... We currently have one in College... one graduating this year and one in 10th and our baby is in 8th grade... We hope to remain here for awhile...

I joined the Air Force and in 22 years I lived in Alexanandra, La; Las Vegas, NV, Little Rock, AR; Tokyo, Japan; and finally Spokane, WA. My wife is from Little Rock so we moved back here after my retirement. Believe it or not, Little Rock is actually a well kept secret. We get back to Alabama occasionally to visit my sister, Becky and nieces (Nancy and Jamie Patterson) and my son Adam. Even though I haven't lived in Alabama in 30 years, I still tell people that I'm from there. When folks ask me why I never moved back, I tell them that I got caught smuggling in books so they won't let me live there :) If you're ever in Arkansas, look us up.

I moved from Al. 17yrs. ago and went to Wisconsin. I was there for 6yrs and my oldest son was born there. I then moved to Union, Ky. and was there for 2yrs. I currently live in SC.with my 2 sons and have been here for 9yrs. All of my family is still in the B'ham area and we try to get down there a couple times a year.

i moved from cario which was a part of roosevelt and now is b'ham in "85" to a
city called schenectady ( away to pronounce it "skin-neck-teedy'' ) n.y. about
25 minutes from albany and 250 miles from n.y. city. i had 3 sister's and one
brother that lived here which two sister's passed away out of the 23 years i
lived here.my last two visit back to b'ham was in "2005 and 2006" for my mom
and dad funeral. i still have two sisters and one brother in b'ham.
since i lived here in n.y. i can truely say i miss the hospitality, the smiles in greeting one another in passing or just saying good morning. you just dont
get that here. so sad.

I moved to Pensacola Fl in 1996.We drove through here in 1994 and thought it would be a great place to live.My husbands job offered him a transfer 2 yrs later and we ended up in Gulf Breeze Fl right across the bridge from P'Cola beach.I have always missed the people and small community feeling from Midfield but seeing it go down as it did broke my heart everytime we went back home.I live outside pensacola now in a small community called Pace and believe it or not the school there are the PATRIOTS! Love that.
