I remember you are an Alabama grad. Just thought you might be coming to the game with the Auburn side of the family. We always have a huge tailgate for this game. All of Patty's family are Alabama grads and come tailgate with us. It's usually about half and half. Take care, Gene
John, I'm so glad you responded. I'm sorry to hear that it's raining on your vacation...but it's probably pretty much of the day...and a rainy day at the beach is better than a good day in Birmingham! I hope the system moves out by this weekend...that's when we head down there. We go each year with a group of about 10 families...this is our 9th year to do this. It's great with the kids...everybody has buddies...including the adults. Now some of the older kids have babies of their own...and the cycle continues. We probably look like a pack of gypsies, but it's fun.
Your memories of my dad are hilarious...and right on target. He and mother live very close to me...just a few miles away. Mother is doing great, given that she just turned 84. But the last four years have really taken a toll on my Dad. I am sorry to say that he has Alzheimers and is in a slow but steady decline. He is still up and about, but very limited. We are blessed that he hasn't lost his joking spirit and constant smile.
Glenda is doing just great. She remarried a few years ago and is very happy. Her daughter, Ivy, just got married. Ralph is happily married and living in Huntsville. He and Beth have been married for I guess about 10 years. They have a 5 year old son, Caleb, who is in one of my posted pictures playing the guitar we gave him for Christmas along with JIm and Dylan and my nephew Patrick's son, Sammy. Ralph also has a 5 month old baby girl, Lillian. He jokes and says that he must be much younger than me because his children are so young. Ha! Lillian and Caleb are as close as I'll come to grandkids for quite some time...I hope. Assuming they achieve their goals, Dylan and Jessica have years of school ahead of them. Dylan's in the midst of applying to med school and Jessica's undergrad is pre-dental. I'm not sure how they both migrated to such a love of the sciences...one college biology course and I knew I was headed back to math!
I have seen Max from time to time around town...it's been a while...mostly sports related when Dylan was in high school. How is he doing? And what about Martha?
Hi John. Gene Miller sent me a line and when I responded, I noticed that he sent one to you as well...so I decided to as well. It is good to see you and your family on the site. Life is treating you well. Your boys are just precious...or I maybe I should say handsome. I was tickled to see that you included a photo of your Dad (and his wife). He looks great...please tell him that I said hello. He was always such a sweetheart...I'm sure that hasn't changed.
Thanks for those kkind words, and yes I am truely blessed that all three of my children take after their mother in looks and brains. Meredith said it was fun at the wedding and everyone seemed to have a good time. Its great to hear from you and I hope all is well.
