Current Hometown:
Childersburg, Alabama
About Me:
After I moved in 1974 from Midfield to Little Rock, Arkansas I dearly missed all of my Midfield buddies! This avenue of communications is so totally new to me! Thanks to my little brother Dewayne that is how I came about finding this site. After I graduated in 1977 from Little Rock, Hall High I went to work for what was then Southwestern Bell and in 1981 I was transferred to Dallas and when the company divested in 1984 I went to the AT&T side of the house and have been there since! (31 yrs yikes!). I moved around alot to keep a job, I moved to Austin and then back to Dallas, in 1992 I was sick of the concrete and busy highways and wanted so bad to come back HOME!!! I got a transfer to B'ham in January of 1993 and boy did I get a welcome in March of that year! 19 inches of snow and I thought it was not suppose to snow in Alabama! HA! I met a guy in 1994 or there about and we married in 1997. Then after literally a few years of HELL, I suddenly got smart and filed for a divorce and in 2003 I started enjoying my life again! I now live in Childersburg and as of 1/15/10 I have officially retired ffrom AT&T! If and when another reunion should come up, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would contact me and let me know. I would love to see all of you Midfied Patriots after 30 plus years! I would love to hear from anyone that might remember who I am! My email is pattibear2@aol.com.

Good to see you and Yolanda today, girl you fit right in with the rest of us maniacs, I hope you had as much fun as we did.  Some of us older ones may move a lot slower than years ago and may look like we are not enjoying ourselves, but we are, let me assure you....  As I told you before you left, you, Yolanda, or another friend are always welcome, you are part of the family...
You do need to join the Class of 75 group even though you didn't graduate then, neither did I but it is our common ground group, so many discussions go through that group, it is best to monitor through that group, we don't care when you graduated, we welcome all who come.....

The Park opens at 9am, I figure we get ther set up, let the chili warm in crock pots or such, visit, play games if wanted and then eat 11-12 roughly.....

Hey Patti,

That is great news, it is so good to see folks from back in the day.  It is a chili cook-off to speak of and would love to have different chilis to try.  I know I am making and I think Tim Murphy is too.  BUt don't feel pressure into doing that, you can dessert or brings cups and plates, just let me know what you would rather do.....

Update from prayer request yesterday...

Dear Gerald & Ginger,
Robin has been stable throughout the day but she has a long way to go toward full recovery. She will need more surgery as well. Right now she is in a medically induced coma but recognizes some people and is responsive to commands. She does not know about Zachary yet.

There will be a service for Zachary early next week. I will notify you when the arrangements have been made.

Those of you who are able to bring food please contact Shirley Wilson by church phone or email her:

If you are able to send a financial gift please make checks payable to Freedom Church. Designate "Lingo Family" on the memo line. This would be extremely helpful and very much appreciated.

A man was sick and tired
of going to work every day
while his wife stayed home.

He wanted her to see what he went

through so he prayed:

'Dear Lord:

I go to work every day and put

in 8 hours while my wife

merely stays at home.

I want her to know what

I go through.

So, please allow her body to

switch with mine for a day.

God, in his infinite wisdom,

granted the man's wish.

The next morning, sure enough,

the man awoke as a woman...

He arose, cooked breakfast

for his mate,

Awakened the kids,

Set out their school clothes,

Fed them breakfast,

Packed their lunches,

Drove them to school,

Came home and picked

up the dry cleaning,

Took it to the cleaners

And stopped at the bank

to make a deposit,

Went grocery shopping,

Then drove home to put

away the groceries,

Paid the bills and balanced

the check book.

He cleaned the cat's litter box

and bathed the dog..

Then, it was already 1 P.M.

And he hurried to make the beds,

Do the laundry, vacuum,

Dust, And sweep and mop

the kitchen floor.

Ran to the school to pick up

the kids and got into an argument

with them on the way home.

Set out milk and cookies and

got the kids organized to do

their homework.

Then, set up the ironing board

and watched TV while he

did the ironing.

At 4:30 he began peeling

potatoes and washing

vegetables for salad,

breaded the pork chops

and snapped

fresh beans for supper.

After supper,

He cleaned the kitchen,

Ran the dishwasher,

Folded laundry,

Bathed the kids, And put

them to bed.

At 9 P.M. He was exhausted

and, though his daily chores

weren't finished, he went to

bed where he was expected to

make love, which he managed

to get through without complaint.

The next morning, he awoke

and immediately knelt by the

bed and said: -

Lord, I don't know what

I was thinking.

I was so wrong to envy my

wife's being able to stay

home all day.

Please, Oh! Please,

let us trade back.. Amen!'
The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied:

'My son, I feel you have

learned your lesson and

I will be happy to change

things back to the way

they were.

You'll just have to wait

nine months, though.

You got pregnant last night.'
