many band memories stand out. the time we won the jean lafayette trophy in lake charles as best band there at the competition.. mr harwell was so proud.. the fun times in band sitting with dale rodgers.. one time i was talking and mr harwell thoiught it was dale and dale ran laps and never ratted on me.. thanks dale.. ( i hated doing laps) one practice mr harwell made us run the entire practice around 2 hours i think because we didnt do things he thought we should. i was soooo mad at him and really tired that nite too... i got over the mad and tired but have fond memories anyway...

Rutledge burning has to be at the top of the list...
Many great memories override the loss of old Rutledge.

for me it would have to be when Danny Messer died. that was one of the most difficult things i have ever gone through.

Also, our last football game my senior year. I was in the band, the band was my life ! I probably would have not finished school if it was not for the band. We always played the Star Spangled Banner before the game. I was playing it for the very last time, I stood there playing while tears dripped off my face,,,

Excuse me JDL, I should have said the anniversary of the sinking of the titanic.
Another day that has come to memory many times was also a sad occassion. It was the day of Mark Naugher's(Spelling) funeral.

James said::"When Bobby Joe crashed, it was my worst albeit most memorable day at MHS. It haunts me to this day" I remember that also, we shared a table in math class. It was a bad feeling seeing a empty chair next to me.

Getting caught for skipping school because I was riding around Hueytown trying desperately to talk some sense into a friend and keep her from either killing us or killing a particular someone.

Finally got her talked into going back to the school - and who should be in the parking lot but my Dad, leaned up against his truck. He had that "look" on his face...the look you never, ever want to see...needless to say - grounded for a month...no talking to my boyfriend on the phone - no going out for Pizza after the ballgames. Oh well...I hardly get him to talk to me now - but we do get Pizza every now and then. LOL!!!!

Oh, and my friend whom I tried to protect from danger - wasn't even grounded - She could have had a career as either a race car driver or a demolition derby driver! (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!)

Wow, David, I didn't know Mr. Marzette was already teaching when the Titanic sank. Actualy, I didn't even realize you guys were already going to MHS at that time; I would've guessed y'all were only in elementary school then. You look so young!

Didn't know people actually celebrated its sinking, either. I'm really out of the loop.

If I could relive one day of high school, it would probably be the time Mr. Isbell hypnotized us. If I could relive one night, it would be my senior Prom night.
Neither of those things had squat to do with my high school education.

THE 1970'S at MHS were like the 60's in California . if you CAN remember them , then you probably were not there , ( or at least had any real fun ) :)
