Dennis! I'm not very good and checking this page...so that's why I'm so late in replying to you. Great to hear from you. Do you have a facebook page? If so friend me. I have pics of my boys on there. I'm doing very well. Live in Charlotte, NC. Two boys...21 and 18. Matt is at SMU in Dallas and David will be starting UGA in the fall. Were we really that age once??? Cute family pic! Let me hear from you again.
But it's a dry heat...and a dry heatstroke.
We liked it higher up too. Spent a lot of time in Sedona and Flagstaff. Much nicer up there.
We live out west of Atlanta, but I work in Midtown/Downtown. Let me know when you are coming in.
We spent three years in Phoenix right after our daughters were born. Loved everything about Arizona. Lynn did consulting work for 9 years and we moved a lot back then. Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, NC, and now back to Georgia. I'm sure the Army has moved you around even more than that.
I'm not sure Dennis Perkins and intelligence are two things I would associate with one another...
What's up Perk? Great pictures. You have a beautiful family. Many thanks to them and you for your service. You should be very proud.
We lived in AZ for several years. Where exactly is Ft Huachuca?
I was in Midfield for the reunion last year, but I don't get back that way much. Most of the family is in FL now, except Kevin and his family are in Spanish Fort. I've run into a few classmates over the years. maybe it's time for another poker game.
I'd like to echo Gregg's comment and thank you for your service to our country.
Thanks and well done!
On the Walker College front, there's a new alumni site on facebook. I'll send you a friend request and you can reach it off of my page. We've been Bevill State since 1998. Randell Pickering stuck around until 1997.
Dennis, I think how we grow up is more a function of our parents and family than where we live and how many times we move. Yes, I loved growing up in the same house with the same friends, but I have two incredible young ladies that work with me who both grew up in military families. They are so caring, committed and grounded. Fortunately the world is much smaller now than it was when we were little. With the internet, cell phones, etc., we can be in a community without geographical boundaries. So much for my waxing philosophic! Take care and keep in touch with us!
Allen Rowland, Ben Wall, Jerry Dollar and Marcia Atkins are still at the College . When I first went to work there, I replaced Mr. Myers and have heard many stories about him over the years. I inherited his office and classroom. Most of the folks that I worked with for the first several years were there when you were and I've seen a photo or two of you in the old annuals. I see Dean West at the gym from time to time, though he retired about 10 years ago.
Hey Dennis, Welcome to the site. It has been fun reconnecting with everyone after so many years. I noticed Pattie mentioned the white tuxedos and that brought back memories. I remember you and John in those as well. You were both always fun to be around. Hope all is well with you. I also want to say thank you for serving our country. Your service is greatly appreciated.
Hey! I'm on facebook too so I'll shoot you a friend request. Yes, I'm cooler than my little brother. His email is email@example.com. I'm so sorry about your folks. They were so sweet. We lost R.O. in 2000 and Luttie in 2005. You were blessed like us to have that kind of loving family. I'm so proud of your service to our country. Thank you so much for all of us for all you do! I'll let John know we connected and hopefully you guys can catch up. I have an ingrained image of the two of you in white polyester tuxedos with oversized black glasses behind Ceil Jenkins Snow at the Queen of Hearts Pageant!
