Hey Rick, thanks for the comments on my movies, those were some good times.. and it appears from your collection of photo's that you have done really well for yourself and have a great family. The frog pond is not only bottomless, but it has every car that was ever stolen in Midfield in it.... as I told Bryan Waldrop recently, we are all lucky we survived our teenage years in the highlands.. man we were as clannish as the Scottish.. but I do remember the great football games we had on the corner of 12th Av and 8th Street.. I look back on the people I grew up with that helped me prepare to face the world.. I quickly learned that us highlanders could compete and perform in the world with the best of them.. Its good to hear from you..

Hey hey Brother Rick,
How's the world as you see it from there? I've had occassion to stroll down memory lane recently and couldn't help but to reflect on my ol bud. From your photographs you seem to be taking care of yourself. My love to you and all of your kin.
Your Pal,
James

Thanks for the message! And yes ROLL TIDE! Things are going good here and the season has been good to us so far. I did get the chance to go down to Melanie's and hunt one day this past year, wished you could have made it down. Stay in touch and we will be in the south in a few weeks at Atlanta and Talladega.

That's pretty good shooting there Greg!! Very impressive to say the least. I am about a consistent high eighties and I shoot quite a bit. Keep up the good work and remember to keep both eyes open and aim with your heart!! "can't miss! ;-)"

TC,
Rick

Rick, how are you ? gotta tell you a funny gun story, I had a over & under I could not hit anything with it. Other people could hit with it, but not me. Sold it, it was not a expensive one. I was looking for a camo shotgun for turkey hunting, found a unused Winchester National Wild Turkey model 1300 pump, $275.00, I can hit 4 out of 5 skeet with it !

Ricky My Friend,
How are you? I would love to get together and hang out one of these days. I was hoping to go to the last gathering, especially after I found out Frankie was going, but a free race weekend came up, and I had never been to a Cup race, so there ya go.
I hope our kids are not like you and I were. How did we ever get so old?

Hey Rick,
Randy Mize, class of 74...
You must be little brother, I went to school with Frank (we called him Frankie).
I remember Linday too, she was a freshman when I graduated. I was noticing you photos and put two and two together which is good for an old man like me... LOL

I noticed you work for B&G, my wife did too when we livved in Bham until 1997.
That has been he favorite job all these years, she worked on site at St Vincents Hospital just down from the main Office. That is the one thing we have missed leaving Bham for the Huntsville area. She worked with Mike Dunn and Ron Handley. Great company to work for.

Enjoyed your pics, I too have an audiophile blood type running through my veins. I have always liked Marantz, still have some tower speakers, that have been great. I enjoy checking out the vintage equipment on ebay. Do you work on any other old amps? I have a Fisher Syudio Standard amp that I just can't part with and no one will work on them up hear. I bought me some magnapans two years ago and love those.... (I saw them first in 79 and said then one day I'd like to have some)...

I like some of your weapons too, we will all appreciate them more as time goes on, I'm sure. Ammo has gone out of site and getting scarce.

Congrats on accepting Christ, me too, if I hadn't who knows where I would have ended up. There are a lot of us older Highland kids that have been blessed and didn't realize it till now...

Sorry to ramble, just wanted to say Hi, seem we have a bit in common. Take care.

Rick don't ever thing anything you have to say is too long!!! Especialy when your talking about what God has done for you. It is good to share it makes you and the other person strong when you do. I'm glad you know who you are and are standing up for what you believe you continue to do so God will reward you. ( although I know that is not why you tell of his goodness) ..I'm very happy for you...you seem to be a good man and I know your MOM is very proud of you. Please tell her hello for me. I always loved her.

Rick,, WOW, you do have a good job, I am really glad to hear that ! My son works for Johnson - Kreis construction. http://www.johnsonkreis.net/enter/ We had jumped on the homebuilding bandwagon a couple of years ago, & the wheels fell off !! I lost most of my retirement money, sold the last spec house in October at a nice loss. Still owe relative/investor for a start up loan too. My son tried to be self employed, home repairs etc. Just could not make it. I really hated it for him. A few weeks ago he was driving to this last home repair job he had, he was impressed to stop at this large job site. He asked the super if they were hiring, he said " as matter of fact I am" I emailed his resume', he had interview the next day, started on the following Monday. THAT WAS A BLESSING & A ANSWERED PRAYER !! !
I need the dave Ramsey book, we have always been financially behind all our marriage. Espically after the homebuilding venture. I was having to give my son money to live on when he could not make enough to live on. I live fairly frugal, boat is paid for, the truck in pic is my son's. Decent mortgage, one car payment, limited eat out, some credit debt, I really do not spend much on fishing, but just can not get ahead. My line of work just does not pay alot. I also need the book "rich on any income" But praise God, I have a job & am not behind on any bills. It will get better !
Enough of my problems !!
You said you shoot skeet,, I try to, I hit about 1/4 of them !! I am right-handed, left-eye dominant. Someone suggested that I try to shoot left handed. Thanks for the advice & encouragement, I will get the book, honestly, my largest expense is going to the beach, but we go cheap, but it all adds up. Trying to figure out a cheap fishing trip tp the ocean in June !!
Thanks again, it is great to hear from you,,have a good rest of the week,,,

Rick, looks like you are doing real good, I spend all my $$ in boats & fishing, influenced by my son. He is worse than I am ! He ( I help some) does residential & commerical construction, we have probably every construction tool made,,well, it looks like it ! We don't make any money at it ! Sounds like you have a good job. What type of work do you do ? What I do is steady, but does not make much money, tried to venture out to other careers, but never was sucessful.
That is ok I guess, have a great week,,,
